Trance Ritual for Travel in the Ghost Worlds of Universe B – Merciless Pathways | Psalms of the Desert

“The offering of the Mass becomes the magickal method whereby cosmic logic enters human experience, since it is something which is happening both on earth and in the heavenly worlds. The action of the God of Sacrificial Fire, Agni, makes this possible.”

Michael Bertiaux, Voudon Gnostic Workbook (Magickal Childe, 1988)

The purpose of this ritual is to connect the Voudon Gnostic sorcerer with the Dark Goddess current via working with Bhairavi, Chinnamasta, and Dhumavati. Each Goddess can offer the initiate many unique empowerments and blessings as well as protection for Her most devoted [ devotees].

These particular blessings are especially germane for adepts seeking to journey into the Nightside Tree via the Ophidian pathway and are of particular importance for exploring the Ghost Worlds of Universe B.  This particular ritual will connect the initiate with each aforementioned Goddesses rather than focusing on one particular Goddess. This will allow the connection with a specific Goddess to grow organically rather than being forced.

After the initial contacts are made via this ritual, the initiate may hear the voice of one or all of the Dark Goddess, depending upon Her wishes. Each Dark Goddess is a Kosmic Universe within Herself and has the power to awaken the initiate from the machinations of the conditioned mind [thereby] liberating the initiate from his or her somnambulistic mirage.

One of the most important ways the Goddess will empower the initiate is through a gradual loosening and eventual severing of particular Pranic blockages or granthis located within the Sushumna channel. To safely navigate the Nightside Tree and explore the secret tunnels within the Meon, the Sushumna must be open and clear allowing for maximum unimpeded Pranic flow.

If this Pranic flow is blocked or stagnated while exploring the Nightside, it can ricochet or “backfire” upon the magician resulting in extremely dire experiences for the adept. Ritualistic working with the Dark Goddesses will allow the magician to avoid such circumstances altogether.

While there are many potential areas of Pranic blockage within the human body, this ritual focuses on three particularly important granthis located directly upon the Ophidian Pathway:

Brahma Granthi located within the Muladhara Chakra which keeps one in bondage to conditioned speech.

Vishnu Granthi located within the Anahata Chakra which keeps one in bondage to conditioned emotions.

Rudra Granthi located within the Ajna Chakra which keeps one in bondage to conditioned dualistic thoughts.

Each of these areas of bondage or conditioning can be “time bombs” in Nightside journeys which must be “de-activated” in order to avoid potential Pranic backfiring and vampyric manipulation in the Ghost Worlds of Universe B.

For this ritual to work effectively, it must be done regularly, ideally in the evening and on the waning cycle of the Moon. It is highly recommended that novice practitioners forgo this ritual until they have significant experience as while not explicitly dangerous, this ritual will open the doorways for powerful Dark energy to move and awaken within the Blood of the magician.

If one is not properly initiated [ or experienced], simply reading and contemplating this ritual will strike a resonance within the Pranic body which  will lead the participant upon a path of self transformation and Self discovery, if the Goddess so chooses.  It is also important to keep in mind that repeated use of this ritual will provide more powerful experiences and result in deeper states of transformation and healing.

The initiate who uses this ritual regularly will find many secret empowerments revealed to him and will establish deep communion with various aspects of the Dark Goddess.

ADVANCED TRANCE RITUAL

FOR TRAVEL IN

THE GHOST WORLDS

OF UNIVERSE B

Ingredients

Candles ( 1 yellow, 1 red,  1 green, 1 blue, 1 white, 1 black ), incense, Bell, Yantra of Bhairavi, Chinnamasta, and Dhumavati, consecrated holy oil, small glass of red wine.

Preparations

Prior to ritual, the area should be arranged as follows:

NORTH: Yellow candle to represent Ghuede-Nibbho

EAST:  Red candle to represent Damballah

SOUTH: Green candle to represent Simbi Makaya

WEST: Blue candle to represent Ogou-Fer

CENTER: White candle for Legbha, Black candle for Ucchista Ganapati

Procedure

Place bell to the right of the black candle, place the small glass of red wine to the left of the white candle.  Position the Bhairavi yantra between white and black candle, position Chinnamasta yantra above white candle, Dhumavati yantra above black candle. Place the incense and oil below white candle.

After arranging the ritual space, the initiate should take a cleansing bath followed by a shadow bath.  After these preparations have been made, the initiate should enter the ritual space naked, enter the ritual circle and sit facing the North with black and white candles in front of him.

Ritual

The initiate should spend 10-15 minutes clearing his mind of thoughts and begin to visualize the ritual area as the center of his universe.  After this is done, ring the bell 16 times, and light the white candle in honor of Legbha.  Thereafter say the following:

Great Papa Legbha, Guardian of the Gates, I honor you with my breath, thoughts and actions.

Please assist me and protect me in this ritual, Papa Legbha, Krist of holy Voudon, please open the doorway and allow me, your twin here on Earth, to commune with You in this holy temple.

Light the incense and wave it in a counterclockwise motion around the white candle.

Place incense by white candle and allow the light from the candle to permeate the entire ritual area and into every cell of your body and mind.

Feel the light of Legbha radiate throughout the ritual space and throughout the body.

Now light the black candle in honor of Ucchista Ganapati, the Nightside Ganesha. Thereafter say the following:

Son of Shiva, Great Ucchista Ganapati, please remove the obstacles for this ritual and assist me in my efforts, please welcome me into Your Being.

Oh One with the Twisted Trunk, Son of the Beloved Goddess, please protect me in all of my journeys into deeper realms of Being. Please clear away my negativity and confusion and guide my every step as I journey into Your Mother’s sacred body.

Now wave the incense in a clockwise motion around the black candle then return the incense to rest by the white candle.

Feel the protection and company of Ucchista Ganapati in the ritual space.

Proceed to light each of candles in the following pattern: Yellow, Blue, Green, and Red.

Spend time at each station honoring the respective Voudon Lwa and offer incense at each quarter as well.  When this is done, return to the center of the ritual area and sit in front of white and black candles.

The initiate should now start to visualize a flame hovering above and between the white and black candle in front of him.

Focus on deep, slow breathing, in through the nose, out through the mouth as the flame grows brighter with each breath.

When the flame is strong and bright, visualize the flame now hovering over the Yellow candle, then the Blue, then the Green , then the Red, each time allowing the flame time to grow stronger with each breath before moving on to the next quarter.

When all four quarters have been addressed, visualize the flame returning to the center of the white and black candle and say the following:

Witness of all births, the sacred flame hidden within all matter, Lord Agni, please carry my thoughts and words to the great Voudon Temple, beyond the Beyond.

Sacred Priest present at all sacrifices, Dhumaketu, allow your seven tongues of Fire to purify my body, mind and Spirit.

At this point, the initiate should ring the ritual bell seven times. Now take the ritual oil and anoint the areas around the genital area ( Muladhara Chakra ), the chest area ( Anahata Chakra),  and the forehead area ( Ajna Chakra ).

Focus the attention and breath at the Muladhara Chakra center.  Now visualize the flame of Agni burning and glowing in this area, growing brighter and stronger with each inhalation and exhalation.

Continue this focus until there is a physical sensation of warmness and heat in the Muladhara area or at the base of the spine.

Give as much time as necessary for this sensation to occur.

After this sensation has arrived, focus attention at the Muladhara Chakra area and speak the following:

Om Agni ! Jwa-la Jwa-la Bhairavi Hum Hum Phat Swaha!

This mantra should be said several times out loud, then whispered, then repeated silently. Each time the mantra is uttered, visualize a small flame burning in the Muladhara area.

After several minutes of focusing the breath and attention to the flame in the Muladhara Chakra, the initiate should move his breath and attention up to the chest area at the Anahata Chakra.

Visualize the flame of Agni burning and glowing in this area, growing brighter and stronger with each inhalation and exhalation.  Continue this focus until there is a physical sensation of warmness and heat in the Anahata or chest area.

Give as much time as necessary for this to occur. After this sensation has arrived, focus attention at the Anahata Chakra area and speak the following:

Om Agni! Jwa-la Jwa-la Dhumaketu Hum Hum Phat Swaha!

This mantra should be said several time out loud, then whispered, then repeated silently. Each time the mantra is uttered, visualize a small flame burning in the Anahata area. After several minutes of focusing the breath and attention to the flame in the Anahata Chakra, the initiate should move his breath and attention up to the forehead at the Ajna Chakra.

Visualize the flame of Agni burning and glowing in this area, growing brighter and stronger with each inhalation and exhalation.  Continue this focus until there is a physical sensation of warmness and heat in the Ajna Chakra or forehead area.

Give as much time as necessary for this to occur. After this sensation has arrived, focus attention at the Ajna Chakra area and speak the following:

Om Agni! Jwa-la Jwa-la Prajwa-la Prajwa-la Chinnamasta Hum Hum Phat Swaha!

This mantra should be said several times out loud, then whispered, then repeated silently. Each time the mantra is uttered, visualize a small flame burning in the Ajna Chakra.

After several minutes of focusing the breath and attention to the flame in the Ajna Chakra, the initiate should move his attention to the empty space between the Chinnamasta and Dhumavati Yantra.

Visualize a flame the size of the thumb floating in this empty space. After the visual image is firmly established, say the following:

Great Mother Dhumavati, Womb of Primordial Darkness, please grant me your empowerments.

Sacred Mother Dhumavati, Goddess of the Void, please teach me your secrets and protect me.

Om Agni! Jwa-la Jwa-la Dhum Dhum Hum Hum Hum Phat Swaha!

After saying the above [ words] , place the small glass of wine in the empty space between the Chinnamasta and Bhairavi Yantra.

The initiate should visualize a flame the size of a thumb floating directly above the wine glass. See the sacred flame of Agni growing stronger and brighter with each inhalation and exhalation.

When the flame is burning strong and bright, visualize it descending into the wine glass and radiating light throughout the ritual space from within the wine glass.

The initiate should now drink the wine and take time to feel the warmth and light of the flame coursing throughout his body, lighting the blood and removing any Pranic blockages that might exist in the body.

Allow as much time as necessary for this process, feeling the entire body warm with the power of the sacred flame of Agni. The initiate should now start to focus attention on the palms of the hands, feeling the heat and power of the sacred flame of Agni concentrate within the center of the palms.

When the palms feel the warmth, place the palms together and rub the palms vigorously feeling the warmth growing and growing. Now open the palms and visualize a flame the size of a thumb burning in each palm.

Allow the flames to grow brighter and stronger with each inhalation and exhalation.  Place the palms over the eyes, feeling the warmth of the sacred fire permeate the eyes and throughout the entire body.

Allow this warming process to proceed until the initiate naturally feels the heat and circulation coming to a resting point. When this occurs, draw the breath and attention back to the Muladhara Chakra area.

Focus the breath and attention to this area until the body and mind feels grounded into the ritual space.  Now the initiate should proceed to each quarter, thanking and honoring the Voudon Lwa for their presence and empowerments, then blowing out the candles. After the four quarters have been addressed, return to sitting in front of the lit white and black candles.

Feel the power of the ritual space contract within the area of the white and black candles.  Now say the following words:

Great Lord Legbha, Lord of the In-Between, thank you for opening the doorways.

Papa Legbha, Father of all Pathways, I am Your twin here on earth.

The initate should now blow out the white candle. Focus the attention upon the black candle and say the following:

Great Lord Ganapati, offspring of Shiva and Shakti, thank you for removing the obstacles for this ritual.

Powerful Ucchista Ganapati, Whose eyes are the moon, sun and fire, thank you for your protection and empowerments.

At this point, the initiate should ring the bell 16 times, extinguish the black candle, and leave the ritual room silently.

This is fascinating material (I am reading your posts starting from the most recent and proceeding into the past). But I have a few questions which you may or may not wish to answer, but perhaps you can point me to some sources for clarification.

I have never read any Kenneth Grant. Would reading any of his material help me to understand the Nightside of the Tree? Are we talking about qlippothic entities here? Clearly they are perilous… Possibly in the same way that a stringent cleaning agent is perilous.

I appreciate your contrast of soul with spirit. If you have read any of Patrick Harpur’s work, you know he also makes a contrast between soul and spirit, and like you, he offers a defence for the superior value of soul. Since I just began reading Cave of the Numinous and your blog entries, I’m still trying to get a clearer idea of your definition of Soul. Is it similar to Harpur’s?

I feel that part of the difficulty in handling esoteric material is that everyone is working from different glossaries. Different authors mean different things when they use terms such as Mind or Consciousness. But I have a great deal of sympathy for the treatment of this topic given by Bernardo Kastrup. I see Consciousness as literally infinite, and infinitely divisible, rather like a fractal image. Is it possible that the dedicated initiate is doing nothing more or less than ensuring his perpetual existence as a complete individual who reiterates the qualities of the Consciousness he sprang from (analogous to reiteration and self-similarity in fractal images)? Further, does this relate to the idea of the Rainbow Body or the Diamond Body in Eastern thought, or the Body of Light as expounded upon by Mark Stavish? Is this sort of where we’re going with Kaivalya?

Sorry to be bothersome with these beginner questions. But this is really interesting to me, and I want to understand the ethical implications of the practices and the material. I can see the value in the Tantrika challenging his own limits, but wonder how far he must go in actively disturbing society.

Again, thank you very much for your work.

Thank you for your educated comments! Have you examined my recent book “Entering the Desert”?

      1. Casey says:

I’m trying to find a copy. As you can imagine, all the pre owned copies are either very expensive, or do not ship to my country, or etc. Nonetheless, I will continue to try…

  2. Casey says:

I just emailed a seller on Amazon. com, to see if the seller will ship to my country… The price is doable.

Is Anathema publishing your next volume of Tantric Physics, or will it also be Theion? I’ll want to pre order if possible. Same with Golgotha.

    1. rudra256 says:

I hope the price was not too bad, I hate the horrible black market of occult books. All future works will be published by Anathema. Pre orders for Cult of Golgotha should start in the next 2 weeks.

      1. Casey says:

The price for Entering the Desert is acceptable, and the seller in question will be making international shipments in the very near future, so the problem is solving itself. In any case, esoteric learning needs to bear a price.

I look forward to reading more of your writing!

      2. rudra256 says:

I’m very happy you were able to acquire a copy of Desert as the new Golgotha Book is a deeper journey into the teachings of the Desert book.

  3. Casey says:

I have finally begun to dip into The Cult of Golgotha, though I have had it in my possession for quite some time now. It is challenging material. The preparation of the mind and body for such exotic journeys as you describe is a daunting prospect… The romance of the ideal of the Desert Gnostic in his cell withers before the reality of the work: isolation, doubt, extended periods (one expects) of unrequited yearning, second-guessing, and wondering if one has finally gone too far, and if the Mara have finally closed the door.

That said, the book is a beautiful physical object. My compliments to you and your publisher. I eagerly look forward to the next installment of Tantric Physics.

I will have many questions regarding the current of Golgotha, and how it might be physically accessed by those living in out-of-the-way places, though I suppose it is possible to belong to a Cult of One. In the meantime I will read on, and leave you in peace.

    1. rudra256 says:

Thank you for your insightful comments! Gnostic blessings to you!

  4. Casey says:

Well! It really is challenging material! There is a lot to ask about, but first I will have to investigate the possible doorways you have footnoted. While reading, I sometimes felt as if I were on the edge of deciding whether the Author was mocking the Reader, or simply making the point that the Way will be found, if at all, in marginal and absurd places… After all, the Wise are seen as fools in the eyes of the world.

Yet as ignorant as I am, IKnow there is Truth in those pages.

Congratulations on this book. The illustrations are wonderful. And holding the book is a wonderful tactile experience, which I hope will mutate and grow as I deepen my acquaintance with it through the numerous re-readings the book will have to endure. I look forward to the Pre-order announcement for Tantric Physics II.
