The Most Sacred Space Within A Sacred Precinct

“We now come to the altar. The greatest magicians are the great altar builders. There are more altars in this world than you can shake a stick at.

When humanity first thought to influence events with the aid of supernatural power, altars were created. At one time, they were set in geomantic landscape, paying strict attention to the heavenly vault, and served to gather both cosmic and earthly power.

Altars are the most sacred space within a sacred precinct. They alter ordinary reality, transforming it into a reality of multiplied possibility. They create a vortex of energy and are a crossroads that shift one into the land of the miraculous.”

– David Carson, Crossing into Medicine Country: A Journey in Native American Healing (Arcade Publishing, 2011)

Never underestimate the power of sacred ritual…..
